DULUTH, MN - $188 million dollars in gas tax revenue has been diverted to promote motorized recreation since 1994 generating a host of
unwanted effects. Recent increases in state gas tax will increase such diversions to ~$42 million/biennium.
To educate Minnesotans and legislators, on September 22, MRR sent a survey to all Minnesota House of Representative candidates seeking response to five MRR policy initiatives.

SURVEY RESULTS
Completed surveys continue to be received from legislative candidates. A strong majority, especially among incumbents, "strongly agree" or "agree" with MRR policy initiatives proposed to protect Minnesota from the unwanted effects of motorized recreation..
MRR seeks additonal surveys, especially from candidates in districts currently represented by members of the House Transporation Finance and Policy Committees in which MRR legislation would be heard in 2009.
